White Nokia N9 coming your way

Nokia has already made quite a splash today at Nokia World 2011 with the Nokia Lumia 710 and the Nokia Lumia 800, although we would happily miss out on the Asha which targets developing markets. There is only so much potential that emerging markets offer in terms of the stock upside, and when all the markets in the world are developed, what then, Nokia? Perhaps they might be taking the same route that Nintendo took – that is, rolling out different colored versions of their smartphone. Case in point, a white Nokia N9 is said to be already on its way – in addition to a software update, of course.

No idea on why there was no white colored Nokia N9 to start off in the first place considering how “hot” such devices are at the moment. According to Frank Zillikens, the man behind product marketing for the Nokia N9, “The manufacturing process for beautiful white products is quite complex and we wanted to make sure we deliver the best possible quality for our consumers.”

A white glossy finish certainly looks different from its black, magenta and cyan brethren. Then again, white colored devices tend to end up getting dirty far too often for my comfort – what about you? Expect the white Nokia N9 to arrive sometime in Q4 this year in a 64GB flavor.
