Acer Iconia Tab A100 available in August
On Sep - 6 - 2011
It’s
been a long and twisted road for Acer’s 7-inch Honeycomb tablet, but
after all the starts and stops, we’ve finally got an ETA for the Iconia
Tab A100. According to an email sent out to Acer retail partners today,
the slab should land in stores sometime in early August with a suggested
price tag of $300. The Tegra 2-powered device was originally slated for
a mid-May launch, but was reportedly held up by Honeycomb compatibility
issues. Also arriving early August, is a pair of new Aspire notebooks:
the 15.6-inch 5750Z and the 17.3-inch 7739Z, ringing in at $475 a piece.
Both laptops rock 4GB of DDR3 RAM (upgradable to 8GB), 500GB of
storage, and Intel Pentium processors. Given the extra three months
Acer’s had to get the Iconia Tab A100 to market, that Honeycomb better
taste extra sweet when it finally makes its debut.

Acer Liquid Mini running Android 2.2
On Sep - 6 - 2011
Mobile
phone provider Acer continues to roil them out, with news that it’s
planning a smaller, 3.2″ (capacitive) touchscreen Android 2.2 smartphones
for launch later this year. It’s pretty much the characteristic
middle-of-the-road Android phone, only with DLNA certification so it’ll
be useful for streaming media. Here it is. There’s no sense of scale in
this photo, so it’s hard to tell precisely how petite it is. It’ll come
in an assortment of colours. One of which is pink. Another of which is
green. We won’t be getting up at 5.30am to queue for one on launch
day, but it’s fairly sweet all the same.

Acer beTouch E140 Android Smartphone
On Sep - 6 - 2011
Acer has
announced their latest Android smartphone, they have proclaimed the
phone without offering anything in terms of accessibility. Useless to
say, the gadjet is on the small size and it comes with some rather
crucial specs so it’s probably not something that many are going to sit
and wait for anyway.
That said, the Acer beTouch E140 gazes to be extra of a ‘buy when you see because it is not super pricey kind of handset.’ Anyway, in terms of the specs, lets kick things off with the display — 2.8 inch QVGA touchscreen display. And yes, while it is small, it seems that is what Acer was going for, even including the “small but complete” tagline. Not to mention, when a press release poses a question as (for lack of a better word) interesting as this, it is hard to pass up.
Features include a 600MHz processor, 3G+, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, microSD card slot, FM Radio with RDS, 3.2 megapixel camera and a 1300 mAh battery which according to the press release is pretty spectacular.

Acer Liquid Metal smartphone running Android OS
On Sep - 6 - 2011
PC provider Acer
has provided the Liquid Metal smartphone, a device which it hopes
will allow it to compete with the major rivals in what is becoming an
increasingly crowded market.
The Acer Liquid Metal’s specifications make interesting reading, with version 2.2 of Android onboard accompanied by the specialised Breeze user interface.
It’s 5MP camera with HD video capture lurks on the rear, whilst a 3.6 inch display using capacitive touch technology makes an appearance on the front, making it a hair larger than the iPhone 4. Sadly the display’s resolution is unlikely to match that of Apple’s smartphone king.
An 800MHz processor will give life to Android, but it is slightly strange to see a new mobile emerging with anything less than 1GHz of processing power under the hood, so it will be interesting to see how the Acer Liquid Metal has been optimised to squeeze the most from this chip.

Acer’s Liquid E Ferrari Edition
On Sep - 6 - 2011
Acer has
long been known as Ferrari’s partner. The Taiwanese company released
quite a few notebooks branded with the famous prancing horse. Now, Acer
and Ferrari announced the first Android-powered Ferrari smartphone –
Acer Liquid E Ferrari Edition. The exact release date for this concept device
is unknown and the same goes for pricing. We, however, know that the
specs will remain identical to the original Liquid E. These include a
WVGA capacitive touchscreen, HSPA and WiFi connectivity, GPS,
5-megapixel camera, Bluetooth and Snapdragon processor. The difference
is in the color (Ferrari Edition is red, obviously) and the presence of
the Ferrari logo on the phone’s back. In addition, the Ferrari smartphone
comes pre-loaded with exclusive content like wallpapers, video clips
and ringtones. Finally, there’s the ultra chic Ferrari case made out of
high-quality materials to “safeguard the handset from shocks and dust”
while at the same time being a “pleasure for the eye and touch.”
Sure, the Acer Liquid E Ferrari Special Edition features the same underclocked 768MHz Snapdragon and Android 2.1 as the original Liquid E that launched in February, but, well, this model comes with a flashy Ferrari F1 Red paint job and matching Elite Bluetooth earpiece. Can’t say no to that, can you? You know the rest of the drill: 3.5-inch WVGA touchscreen, five megapixel camera with autofocus, geotagging, and adjustable ISO, included 8GB microSD card, and the Acer Sync app that syncs changes across your handset and PC.

Acer Liquid E Review
On Sep - 6 - 2011
At
this time the universal mobile phone market is subjugated by the
Android OS. Every single mobile producer is putting out the latest
handsets preloaded with the most up-to-date editions of the
Android. One strange business in the middle of the plentiful handset
makers is the Acer Company. Acer is not very famous because of its cell phones.
The major thing that identifies Acer is the desire series of laptops and net books that strike the market with great force. But in the mobile businss it is reasonably a novice. Indeed the array of handsets that Acer released was very limited in figures and the total number of released models amount to a total of 15. That is perceptibly a very low number for aphone manufacturer, but still the phones that Acer did manage to release are very top mark and significantly consistent phones.
The hottest device from Acer is an Android phone called the Liquid E. The handset seems great and feels great. Thickness is just above 12mm which makes it an imposingly thin handset considering its hardware specs. In hardware it is one of the greatest handsets but with a very low price. The Liquid E has a 768MHz Snapdragon processor and 256MB RAM. This is very exciting. You also get a 5MP autofocus camera, Wi-Fi, 3G connectivity, Android Éclair, and accelerometer. Generally the smartphone has a gorgeous exterior and UI and is obtainable at quite a bargain.
